Information & Referral
UCP is well aware of the difficulty parents and family members face when a diagnosis is received, as well as, the maze of medical terms, services and supports that an individual with disabilities requires.
The Information and Referral Program serves as a source of community support for individuals with disabilities and their families, as well as, a source for advocacy and person-centered support. Our specialists find answers to questions regarding disability services and identifying community outlets for families. They also serve as advocates in seeing families through the process of receiving the necessary services.
The program includes support in the following areas:
• Assistive Technology
• Disability Rights & Law
• Education
• Family Supports
• Housing
• Independent Living Skills
• Individualized Funding Assistance
• Local, National and International Organizations, Councils, Institutes and Associations
• Managed Care and Long-Term Care
• Resources for Advocacy
• Safeguards/Abuse
